Two Mac OS X apps have been updated recently and sport revamped interfaces. Both of them are beautiful examples of native OS X apps.
The first is Proteus. Proteus has recently been updated to version 1.6. It is an instant messaging app that can simultaneously connect to all the major messaging networks (Yahoo!, MSN, ICQ, etc.). This is great since I have friends who prefer one over another, and this way, I can chat with any of them without having 2 or more IM apps open! Proteus’ interface is clean and intuitive. The developer says this release should be considered a preview, but I’ve had no problems with it yet.
The second app is Acquisition 0.6. This is a Gnutella network client. This new version has also been revamped and is much nicer than the older interface. Everything is neatly organized in one window using drawers, a native OS X application feature. Everything is nice about this interface, right down to the color and font of the text. If you’re into finding files and you’re running OS X, Acquisition is a must.
