Update

Well, I had a good Thanksgiving holiday.  Family came from both Texas and North Carolina to get together and eat until we passed out.  Seriously, after we ate, about half of us went into my grandparents’ living room and went to sleep.  There were about 10 of us there, while the rest sat around by the dinner table and talked.  After we woke up, we talked until dinner time where we ate until we couldn’t see again.  It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed having so many family members around again.

Over the weekend, we also had a Chinese gift exchange.  That’s where everyone buys a gift for under $10, wraps it and brings it to the exchange.  Everyone draws numbers and then they choose which gift they want.  After a little while, some people start choosing items that someone else has already opened and little tug-of-wars start going on over certain items.  It’s a lot of fun.  Except for me.  EVERY time I’ve participated, I ALWAYS end up with a LAME gift.  My dad, on the other hand, ALWAYS ends up with something he can use.  But, I still enjoy it.  Especially seeing two relatives wrestling over a gift.  Very funny.

I also learned how to play Spades.  It’s a lot of fun and challenging.  We lost the first game because I still hadn’t quite figured out how the game went and made a few dumb mistakes.  The second game was close all the way, but we won in spectacular fashion!  It all came down to us needing to win 2 of the last 3 tricks, and I had 3 high spades left in my hand.  It was a sweet win.

Overall it was a great holiday weekend, but didn’t seem long enough.  It’s always like that, isn’t it?
