Updated Extract URL Plugin for ExpressionEngine 2

I finally got around to updating my Extract URL plugin for use with ExpressionEngine 2.0. It’s one of my oldest plugins and I haven’t touched it much since I first released it. I figured I might as well update it. Took about a minute. I should’ve done it a long time ago. Oh well, better late than never.

Others have taken the basic idea and improved upon it, but it’s still worth upgrading the original.

Download Extract URL (EE 2.x compatible)

Glad to find this! I had used it on a client site who now wants to upgrade to EE 2. I submitted this to devot-ee as I didn’t see it listed there.

I’ve just been trying to use this download with ee2 (2.1.3), and no joy. I opened up the plugin and it appears to be the same syntax as the ee1 plugin.

I used this very heaily in my ee1 days, possibly my favourite plugin! Be good to get the ee2 version as it sounds like you’ve already made it!

Sorry about that Jamie. I must’ve replaced it with a 1.x version a while back without realizing it. Try downloading again.

It is a great plugin, but I can’t get it to work in EE2
The EE2 plugin instructions say to put the plugin in its folder inside the third_party folder.
But this doesn’t have a folder.
When I put it in the plugin folder, or the third_party folder by itself, it is not recognized.

Hi Tim, put it inside a directory called “extract_url”.
