US, England bow out

Crap!!! Germany beat the US 1-0, although the US dominated possession. There was a hotly contested handball in the German goal, and it supposedly even crossed the line, but the Scottish referee didn’t call it. Some calls go your way (Mexico v. USA handball), others don’t. Well done, USA! We didn’t get smothered, and we took it to the Germans. Perhaps the next World Cup we’ll make it to the semis?
And Brazil beat England 2-1 in an excellent match. England scored first and looked very cool and calm despite the very hot weather. But just over a minute before halftime, Brazil evened it up with an amazing shot by Rivaldo. Ronaldinho did some beautiful footwork to nearly make the English defender fall down, broke through the defense and did a quick side pass to Rivaldo who shot it past one defender and the goalie. In the end, I figured Brazil would win, but I knew England would give them a run for their money.
