US military spyplane images

For the last 6 months, it seems like US military spyplane images are being transmitted over unsecure transmissions and can be picked up by people with ordinary satellite receivers anywhere in Europe or the Balkans!

This image was taken from a video showing US military headquarters on alert in Kosovo.  A British engineer first discovered the mess up.  He saw the imagery and noted that it wasn’t encrypted.  He also noted that the spyplanes are very accurate and can pinpoint an area to within 6 feet.  And the imagery is real time, so what you see would be only a few seconds behind what the military sees!  When he contacted the American military and NATO about it, the response he received was “So what?”.

It seems like the military is still not encrypting the imagery.  When asked about it, one American military spokesman in Europe said there was a “difference between information and intelligence” and these images were just information!  What is the military thinking on this one?  They should encrypt this information immediately!
