Well it didn’t take very long after I had asked for a Gmail account before I got one!
I just recently discovered Robert Occhialini’s bump.net and subscribed to his news feed. After trying to help my grandparents with their phone and being unsuccessful, I decided I would check out the feeds to see what’s new. I noticed Robert posted he had a couple Gmail invites to dish out. I saw that he had posted it a couple hours earlier so I thought I had missed the window for sure. I went ahead and asked for one anyway, and Robert was kind enough to give it!
My initial impressions are so-so. Nothing spectacular other than s o m u c h s p a c e! I am happy with it though and will definitely use it instead of my Yahoo account when I need it.
My Gmail account is cruzin -at- gmail.com.
Sorry to go off-topic, but your page currently takes 435 seconds to load. I emailed you about this once before, and you said that you had fixed it one day, upon returning it was faster. Lately though, it’s back to it’s old tricks.
To be sure it wasn’t me – I asked a few people to go to your site, from different parts of the globe – and definitely on different Internet Services – all with the same result. Just FYI.
What’s wrong with 435 seconds?
This problem is becoming very annoying. I’ll have to email Rick and see if he can figure out what the deal is. I’m really hoping it’s not my host. Moving to another host would be an annoyance I can do without right now.
Thanks again for letting me know. For me, it only takes a couple seconds at most, so I’m not sure why it’s taking so long for you and your friends.
Initial impressions are so-so? Oh, you must be overlooking perhaps the best web interface ever created? If you don’t think so, look again. And then, email me at cdevroe@gmail.com when you’ve found an interface on the web that rivals it’s simplicity and can contend with it’s functionality.
