Take a look at what some Columbia University professors said to a group of students the other day…
“The only true heroes are those who find ways that help defeat the U.S. military,” Nicholas De Genova, an assistant professor of anthropology and Latino studies at Columbia University, told the audience at Low Library Wednesday night. “I personally would like to see a million Mogadishus.”
I can NOT believe this guy is a professor. I don’t know what to say to something as messed up as that. Here’s some more about the “professor"…
Regarding Wednesday’s reference to Mogadishu, the professor, who is 35 and from Chicago, said the U.S. Army is composed largely of men and women who have a “treacherous lack of prospects for a decent life,” but even so, they “have a choice” in whether to oppress people like the Iraqis. He said the Iraqis must liberate themselves from domestic oppressors as well as from foreign invaders like the United States.
Note that the statement is dripping with arrogance. The professor obviously sees himself as so far above the troops.
Is there somewhere on a wanna-be professor’s resume that states you have to be an anti-American, clueless, leftist, pompous asswipe in order to qualify? It sure seems like the majority of professors (at least the ones who get the news coverage) fit that description. I used to have respect for professors because I thought they had to be smart in order to qualify. Now I see they don’t need to be smart. Just smartasses.
