Steve Ivy pointed out an interesting site that lets you show where you’ve been in either the US, Europe or the World. It’s called World66. You simply choose from a related list and the image is generated dynamically for you.
One of their services is to choose which states you’ve been to. I took their map and edited it a bit below. States in yellow are ones I’ve lived in. The states in red are ones I’ve either visited several times or stayed overnight in. The states in orange I’ve passed through. And obviously the gray ones I haven’t been to yet.
