XWEBS Browser

Wow!  It seems there’s another browser that could do some serious butt-kicking whenever it gets in the market.  It’s called XWEBS and was written by a 16 year old student in Ireland named Adnan Osmani.  His browser is only 780,000 lines of code, but has features like access to over 120 search engines, built-in music and video players and a talking animated figure called Phoebe that reads Web pages to those with disabilties.  It’s main jaw-dropping feature is that it quadruples surfing speeds on a regular dial-up connection!  It’s been tested by scientists recently and has been getting a LOT of attention from some big companies.  I’m very interested in seeing it myself.

The browser wasn’t vaporware, it was just bought out and cannibalized. You know all the ISPs offering faster dial-up connections? Ones like NetZero HighSpeed and some others? That’s the technology of this kid.
