In case you didn’t notice, my blog uses blogger.com for publishing. Now, the whole point of having a blogger.com account is so I can log into the site and write my stuff through my browser. Earlier, I had just written a rather lengthy entry, which was dealing with some serious issues. When I clicked the “Post & Publish” button, I got a stupid VBScript session timeout warning!! So all of the work I had just written down was gone.
Now, I can write these entries in another app and then log on and post them, but that defeats the purpose of having a blogger.com account. One of the things praised about blogger.com, is it’s browser-based publishing.
So, I’m pissed about all that writing of mine going to waste. I can’t remember what I had written exactly, and I don’t care to write it all again! The session variable at blogger.com needs to be lengthened so that people can write for a considerable amount of time before it kills itself. That’s the whole point of having a friggin’ “Sign Out” button, isn’t it? No stupid timed sessions. Geez.
I totally agree with what you’ve said about blogger.com sucking. I have problems like the one you just described as well as simply not even being able to access my site/blog. They have been having these database server problems constantly…it just happened to me today, the same day (Sunday) that it happened to me LAST WEEK!
Needless to say, I just googled “blogger.com sucks” and came across your opinion. Thanks for sharing. You are not alone.
I just searched “blogger.com sucks” and arrived here. Tonight I signed-up for a blog at that site and after waiting about 5 minutes for my first post to load I got a server error message – looks like all my writing is lost!!
